Man Fatally Stabbed In Downtown San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was fatally stabbed Wednesday night in downtown San Diego, authorities said.

Police responded at 10:17 p.m. Wednesday to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 300 block of Park Boulevard. Officers found an unidentified man lying on the sidewalk with an apparent stab wound, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Officers and San Diego Fire-Rescue personnel provided life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene, police said. The victim was described as a white man in his late 20s.

The suspect fled before officers arrived. Police said there was no known threat to the public and the incident appeared to be isolated.

The department's Homicide Unit was investigating.
