SAN DIEGO, CA — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing on an East Village roadside, authorities reported Tuesday.
Marques Kelly, 26, was arrested Sunday for allegedly killing 32-year-old Corey Shine during an argument, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Patrol officers responding to a report of an assault near Petco Park shortly after 10 p.m. July 15 found Shine mortally wounded on a sidewalk in the 300 block of Park Boulevard, SDPD acting Lt. Victor Rodriguez said. Shine died before paramedics could take him to a hospital.
Investigators believe the homicide occurred in the midst of "an altercation over personal property," Rodriguez said.
Kelly was booked into county jail on suspicion of murder.
