SAN DIEGO, CA — ArtWalk Liberty Station returns for its 21st year this weekend, bringing more than 175 artists from the United States and Mexico to San Diego's Arts District at Liberty Station.

"ArtWalk Liberty Station brings fine art outside, and under San Diego's sunny skies to create the opportunity for viewing art under natural light, and in a beautiful, green garden-like setting," said Curt Brooker, director of ArtWalk San Diego. "Attendees can purchase artwork directly from the artists, all while learning what inspires them to create."

The event begins Friday with a ticketed Preview pARTy, giving attendees early access to artists and their work before the weekend crowds. The evening will include two tribute bands celebrating the music of Tom Petty with
The PettyBreakers and Johnny Cash with June & John's Rockin Country Caravan.

"The Preview pARTy kicks things off in the best way — three hours jam-packed full of classic rock favorites," Brooker said. "For the last four years, we've jammed in this intimate pre-festival party for the whole family."

A KidsWalk area will offer hands-on art activities for children, while artist Sarah Honaker will lead "Paint the Day at the Beach," a collaborative art project inviting visitors to help create a large-scale coastal scene.

The ticketed preview party is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. The free festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Station at 2751 Dewey Road. Parking is free.
