SAN DIEGO, CA — A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after running a red light and colliding with a car in Pacific Beach, police said.
The crash happened at 3:35 p.m. Saturday on the 3600 block of Mission Bay Drive, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Police said a 33-year-old woman riding a 2023 Honda CB500 motorcycle southbound ran a steady red arrow and struck the rear driver's side of a 2017 Honda Civic driven by a 38-year-old man in a dedicated HOV lane.
The motorcyclist suffered a fractured hip and abrasions to her leg. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the collision. The San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division was investigating the crash.
