SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego Humane Society has promoted two longtime animal welfare professionals to leadership positions in the organization's Humane Law Enforcement Department.
Regina Price was promoted to operations captain, while Kira Samuels was promoted to administrative captain, the organization announced.
Price will oversee field operations, supporting officers who investigate animal cruelty and neglect, respond to animal-related public safety concerns and handle emergencies. She previously served as a Humane Law Enforcement sergeant and lieutenant.
Samuels will provide strategic and organizational leadership for the department. She has 18 years of animal welfare experience, including roles in field services, animal resource center operations and spay and neuter programs.
Both were selected through a competitive process based on their leadership, professionalism and commitment to animal welfare, according to the Humane Society.
