Woman Arrested In Fatal Stabbing Of Partner In San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after her partner was fatally stabbed Friday at a San Diego home, authorities said.

Officers responded around 11:30 a.m. Aug. 21 to the 4000 block of 39th Street in the Corridor neighborhood after neighbors reported a loud argument followed by an apparent stabbing, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Officers found a 33-year-old man suffering from significant bleeding inside the home. They performed lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined the man's 33-year-old live-in domestic partner was responsible for the stabbing, police said. She remained at the home and reported minor injuries. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation, released and later booked into Las Colinas Detention Facility on suspicion of murder.

The couple lived together as common-law spouses and shared a young child, who was at school and not present when the stabbing occurred. Police worked with San Diego Unified School Police to locate the child and confirm the child's safety.

The victim's name was withheld pending family notification.
