EL CAJON, CA — A 19-year-old man suspected of 12 felonies, including statutory rape, stemming from an alleged inappropriate relationship, has been arrested, the El Cajon Police Department announced Tuesday.
The department said in a statement in April it "was notified by staff at Grossmont High School that they had discovered an inappropriate relationship between an adult staff member who worked as a performance expert and a student."
The ECPD said that following a thorough investigation, it obtained an arrest warrant Monday for Jayden Joe Lang of San Diego.
According to the ECPD, the "relationship occurred for approximately one month between March and April," adding "the Grossmont Union High School District immediately terminated the suspect's employment."
"There are no other known incidents involving this suspect, " according to the ECPD, which added it and the Grossmont Union High School District "are committed to the safety of students and to thorough investigations to ensure justice for victims and accountability for offenders."
It was unclear on Tuesday if Lang was incarcerated.
The ECPD is asking anyone with information on Lang or the investigation to call 619-579-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
