2 Cited After Hundreds Of Teens Gather At Bonita House Party

Authorities broke up a party with about 400 juveniles one night after deputies responded to another party at the same Bonita home.

BONITA, CA — Two people were cited after authorities broke up a large house party involving hundreds of juveniles in Bonita on Saturday, one night after deputies responded to another party at the same home, officials said.

Deputies received a report shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday of a party involving about 400 juveniles at a home in the 5500 block of Amadita Lane, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. The caller reported seeing social media posts showing juveniles drinking alcohol and said someone at the party might have a gun.

Deputies, assisted by a sheriff's helicopter and K-9 unit, conducted a welfare check inside the home and in the backyard with the homeowner's consent, officials said. Dozens of juveniles left the property.

The homeowner, Sargis Dallakyan, 52, and Mario Vargas, 18, who authorities identified as one of the party hosts, were arrested and cited on suspicion of violating the county's social host ordinance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Both were released with promises to appear in court.

The party was cleared by about 10 p.m. without further incident.

Deputies had responded to the same home shortly after 11 p.m. Friday after receiving reports of juveniles blocking the roadway during a party.

About 75 juveniles dispersed without incident, officials said. As vehicles were leaving, California Highway Patrol officers arrested a 17-year-old on suspicion of DUI.
