JAMUL, CA — A suspect was behind bars Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting six months ago in Jamul.
Larren Daniel, 22, was arrested Monday by the San Diego County Sheriff's Homicide Unit with assistance from the San Diego Fugitive Task Force, according to the sheriff's office. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of murder in the death of Juliez Mosley.
The shooting was reported shortly after 12:20 a.m. March 18 in the 16000 block of Loose Creek Road. Deputies responding to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon searched a home but did not find any victims.
Shortly afterward, the Alpine Fire Protection District notified the sheriff's office that a shooting victim had arrived at its fire station. Emergency personnel provided medical aid, but Mosley died at the station, according to the sheriff's office.
Daniel is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at the East County Superior Court.
Homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and a possible motive. Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no known threat to the community.
