SAN DIEGO, CA — Monday is the deadline for San Diego County residents to register to vote and receive a mail ballot for the Nov. 3 general election.
Residents can register online at registertovote.ca.gov or request a paper registration form by calling 800-696-0136 or by emailing rovmail@sdcounty.ca.gov.
Those who miss the Oct. 19 deadline can still register and cast a provisional ballot at the county Registrar of Voters office at 5600 Overland Ave. in Kearny Mesa, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Conditional voter registration will also be available at vote centers beginning Saturday, Oct. 24, through Election Day.
All active registered voters have been mailed ballots, which can be returned by mail, at one of more than 150 official ballot drop boxes across the county or at a vote center beginning Oct. 24.
Mailed ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by the Registrar of Voters within seven days after Election Day to be counted. Ballots returned to drop boxes or vote centers must be submitted by 8 p.m. Nov. 3.
Voters must sign and date their ballot return envelopes.
Select vote centers will open Oct. 24, with all locations opening Oct. 31. Voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, expanding to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Residents who have moved, changed their names or recently relocated to San Diego County should update their registration. Voters can check their registration status online.
