The couple claims von Detten persuaded them to invest about $2.1 million of their retirement savings in gold coins after they contacted the company in 2020, KTLA reported Tuesday.

According to the lawsuit, the coins were worth only about $1.3 million. The couple is requesting a jury trial and seeking roughly $900,000 in damages, along with additional punitive damages, KTLA reported.

Rosland Capital filed for bankruptcy in July after the lawsuit was filed.

Von Detten, 44, is known for his roles in Disney's "The Princess Diaries" and "Brink!" and for voicing Sid in "Toy Story."
