ESCONDIDO, CA — Families can explore the wonders of outer space during the Children's Museum of Discovery's 10th annual Space Night next month in Escondido.
The after-hours event is scheduled for 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, and will feature hands-on activities designed to introduce children ages 4 to 10 to science, technology, reading, engineering, art and math.
Children can view stars through professional telescopes with the San Diego Astronomy Association, learn about constellations and nebulas, build straw rockets and participate in other space-themed activities.
The event will also feature a special space science presentation by Science Guys of San Diego.
"Through events such as Space Night, we're providing families with opportunities to build foundational skills in STEM education while feeding a natural wonder about all things from gravity to galaxies," said Christina Piranio, CEO of the Children's Museum of Discovery.
Tickets cost $17 for museum members and $20 for nonmembers. Discounts are available for military members, veterans and EBT, SNAP and WIC cardholders.
Advance registration is required.
