Armed ​Man Carjacks Driver And His Daughter In San Diego

A man carjacked a truck belonging to a man whose 10-year-old daughter was a passenger Friday in Logan Heights.

SAN DIEGO — A man carjacked a truck belonging to a 37-year-old man whose 10-year-old daughter was a passenger Friday in Logan Heights.

The victim was driving a 2018 white Toyota truck into a parking lot in the 3100 block of Valle Avenue near South 32nd Street when a man walked up to the car, pointed a gun at the driver, and told him to get out of the car, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.

The man and his daughter exited the vehicle and the suspect fled the scene in the truck, Heims said.

The truck was later recovered in the 1300 block of Rigal Street near Interstate 5, but the suspect was not present. He is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall and wearing a black jacket with the hood up, according to Heims.
