Armed Robbers Hit Hillcrest Jewelry Store

At least three or four suspects were involved in the heist, San Diego police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA – A group of gun-wielding thieves robbed a Hillcrest jewelry store Monday evening.

The holdup at Bert Levi Family Jewelers, 1050 University Ave., was reported shortly before 5:30 p.m., according to San Diego police.

The bandits fled to the west in a vehicle of unknown make and model, Officer John Buttle said.

It was unclear how many robbers took part in the heist, though it was believed to have been either three or four, Buttle said. No detailed suspect descriptions were immediately available.
