Authorities Seek Help Identifying Pacific Beach Assault Suspect

The man is suspected of sexually assaulting a sleeping woman at her Pacific Beach home.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Authorities Wednesday reached out to the public for help identifying and locating a man suspected of sexually assaulting a sleeping woman at her Pacific Beach home.

It happened around 1:45 a.m. Monday at a residence in the 900 block of Chalcedony Street, located off Mission Boulevard, San Diego police Officer Mark Herring said.

The suspect entered the house through an open window and sexually assaulted the victim while she was sleeping, Herring said.

When confronted, the suspect fled the area in an unknown direction, he said.

The suspect was described as a white man who is bald and believed to be in his 40s. He was last seen wearing a short sleeve shirt.

Anyone who might be able to help investigators determine the suspect's identity is asked to call San Diego Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
