Award Ceremony 2019 Best Mobile Films

The third edition of the annual Global Mobile Film Awards™ took place online in the evening of December 27, 2019.

Films shot with smartphones that have won awards in film festival competitions around the world were nominated for awards in several categories.

Seven films received awards in the following categories:

Best Film 2019 – Blue Moon by Stefen Harris (iPhone 7 Plus) New Zealand

Best Director & Best Acting – Mad House by Ross Perkins (iPhone 6s) Australia

Best Cinematography & Best Sound Design – Blue Moon by Stefen Harris (iPhone 7 Plus) New Zealand

Best Documentary – The Deepest Cut by Alexandra Guillossou (iPhone 6) Missouri, U.S.A.

Best Special Effects – Gaia by Tejas Ewing (Sony XZ Premium) Southeast Asia

Best Experimental – Chains by Michael Hollis (iPhone 6 & iPhone 5) Australia

Best Travel Video – Sophie Sutton by Robb Montgomery (iPhone 6s Plus) Germany

Best Montage – Life In A Tiny Town by Prakash Gandhi Natarajan (iPhone XS Max) Texas, U.S.A.

The films were selected by two judges:

Blake Worrell has mastered mobile filmmaking through his experience using smartphone cameras and won top awards for his mobile films.

Nathan Bechtold is a Lafayette, Indiana based filmmaker/creative, and the current state president of Indiana Filmmakers Network Inc.

GMFA Members in 2019 are Mobile Filmmaker’s International Fest in Moscow, Russia; Mobile Innovation Network & Association (MINA), Australia; and International Mobile Film Festival, San Diego, California.
