Boat Carrying 5 Migrants Stopped Off Coast Of Point Loma
Authorities said all five individuals aboard the vessel claimed Mexican nationality.
SAN DIEGO, CA — The U.S. Coast Guard stopped a boat carrying five migrants off the coast of San Diego, officials said Tuesday night.
A crew aboard a Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team Los Angeles/Long Beach boat interdicted a 20-foot pleasure craft Monday about four miles southwest of Point Loma, according to the Coast Guard.
Authorities said all five individuals aboard the vessel claimed Mexican nationality. The migrants were transferred Monday morning to the custody of Imperial Beach Border Patrol at Ballast Point.
