Body Found Floating In San Diego Bay

NATIONAL CITY, CA – The body of an unidentified man was found floating in San Diego Harbor Friday.

The discovery in an inlet of the bay near Harbor Drive and West Eighth Street in National City, within the boundaries of Naval Base San Diego, was reported shortly before 8:30 a.m., according to the Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department.

The body, described only as apparently that of a middle-aged man, bore no obvious signs of suspicious trauma, the agency reported.

The county Medical Examiner's Office was called in to take custody of the remains for autopsy and identification purposes.
