SAN DIEGO, CA – President Donald Trump's dream of building a new wall between the United States and Mexico is becoming a reality with border wall prototypes taking shape in San Diego.
Construction began Sept. 26 on prototype designs for a new border wall. There are eight proposed versions of the structure nearing completion in San Diego's Otay Mesa.
Four of the prototypes are made of concrete, and the other four are made of alternate materials, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Designed to deter illegal border crossings, all of the barriers will be between 18 to 30 feet high.
