Crews Quickly Extinguish Fire Near I-15 And SR-94 In San Diego

All lanes were reopened by 4:20 p.m.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Firefighters quickly extinguished a small brush fire Thursday near Interstate 15 and state Route 94 in San Diego.

The blaze fire broke out around 2:15 p.m. off northbound I-15 at eastbound SR-94, according to the California Highway Patrol and San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. The fire did not threaten any structures, officials said.

By 3 p.m., crews had the fire surrounded and stopped, officials said. Air resources were canceled.

Officials initially closed one lane on the northbound SR-15 ramp to eastbound SR-94 at Home Avenue, according to Caltrans. All lanes were reopened by 4:20 p.m.

Crews were expected to remain at the scene for about another hour.
