Brush Fire Sparks In Alpine Area Of San Diego County

The fire sparked south of Loveland Reservoir, near Sloane Canyon, according to Cal Fire.

ALPINE, CA — Crews fought a brush fire Monday in the Alpine area of San Diego County.

The fire sparked 1:38 p.m. south of Loveland Reservoir, near Sloane Canyon, according to Cal Fire. The flames scorched about 18 acres before crews stopped the forward rate of spread.

The fire caused no reported structural damage or injuries.

"A structure fire that spread to the vegetation was determined to be the cause," Cal Fire said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
