DULZURA, CA — Firefighters were battling a brush fire Thursday in the far southern reaches of San Diego County.

The blaze sparked off Marron Valley Road in the Dulzura area, about two miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Cal Fire. The flames have spread roughly 30 acres.

Ground crews and personnel aboard firefighting aircraft worked to extinguish the flames, which posed no immediate structural threats while burning across remote, hilly terrain, Cal Fire Capt. Issac Sanchez said.
