
SAN DIEGO, CA — A brush fire sparked Thursday afternoon on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, forcing the closure of multiple freeway lanes.
The blaze burned north of state Route 52 and state Route 163, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Miramar and SDFD crews stopped forward progress at 10 acres.
No structures were damaged.

"Crews will be on scene for several hours performing mop-up operations," SDFD officials said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The fire prompted the closure of the right three lanes on westbound SR-52, west of SR-163, according to Caltrans.
