Walden Family Services will celebrate its 50th anniversary with the “There’s No Place Like Home” Gala on April 30, 2026, at the historic Thursday Club in San Diego. Set against an ocean-view backdrop, the evening will bring together community leaders, supporters, and partners to benefit housing and supportive services for foster youth.&nbsp;
Inspired by the Wizard of Oz, the gala will feature themed décor, live entertainment including performances by Mariam T and her queens, and a menu by Behind the Scenes Catering. Proceeds will support Transitional Age Youth as they move toward independence, providing stable housing, life skills, and critical resources.&nbsp;
The event honors five decades of impact while investing in the future of youth aging out of foster care. Tickets are $250, with tables of 10 available for $2,500. It's an an outdoor cafe and restaurant on the east side of Mission Bay. The atmosphere is great- lots of room to roam and Mission Bay is gorgeous at night. The agenda for this gathering will be light and loose. Casual mixing from 6:30 till about 6:45 to give folks time to order and then group introductions followed by a brief group discussion - so try to not be too late.&nbsp; After that, we will, take a break for mixing with others, walking around or eating. The we'll reconvene once more for an "ADHD game" (don't worry, it's low key). Conversational Hebrew Classes are the perfect opportunity to take your Hebrew fluency to the next level. In this advanced-level course, you will broaden your vocabulary, talk about diverse factual topics, and gain the ability to give and receive detailed instructions in Hebrew. Students will strengthen their conversational skills through guided dialogues, role-playing activities, and interactive discussions.
Over the course of four engaging sessions, you will not only improve your speaking and listening abilities but also learn useful Hebrew idioms that bring conversations to life. By the end of these Conversational Hebrew Classes, you will be able to hold meaningful discussions on subjects such as Israeli music, art, culture, and current events. The class will also explore expressions that are common in everyday life, helping you communicate naturally and confidently.
When: Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. PT (9:00 p.m. CT, 10:00 p.m. ET), starting on April 30, ending on May 21
