RUTH Opens Final Temporary Holocaust Exhibit in San Diego (FREE and Open to the Public)

RUTH: Remember Us The Holocaust will be opening a new exhibit Sept. 29 at the Downtown Central Library. As the organization enters a new chapter with new leadership and a renewed mission, this will be its final temporary exhibit as it works toward establishing a permanent Holocaust museum in San Diego. The exhibit will be San Diego's only dedicated public Holocaust exhibit, giving visitors the opportunity to experience rare, authentic Holocaust-era artifacts, World War II memorabilia, survivor testimony, photographs and personal objects, many connected to survivors who rebuilt their lives in San Diego & SoCal.

The new exhibit will be FREE and open to the public. This is an opportunity for the public to see historic items and artifacts that have been traveling for six years to libraries throughout the county.

Among the exhibit’s rare, authentic artifacts are items from concentration camps including Auschwitz-Birkenau, preserved by survivors and by the children of those who perished. Several of the survivor testimonies and personal stories have direct ties to San Diego County.
