This festive twist on San Diego’s original tasting tour invites locals and visitors alike to eat, sip, and celebrate their way through the historic Gaslamp Quarter. Enjoy a self-guided culinary adventure featuring 20+ seasonal bites, 10+ holiday sips, and 5 exclusive VIP tastings at participating neighborhood establishments.
Originally founded in 1993 as an intimate dinner party showcasing local culinary talent in the historic Yuma Building, Taste of Gaslamp has grown into a beloved San Diego tradition. Now with a holiday spin, guests can discover seasonal flavors, explore local restaurants, and soak up the festive atmosphere of the Gaslamp Quarter.

This Halloween season, <a href="https://www.margaritavilleresorts.com/margaritaville-hotel-san-diego" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Margaritaville Hotel San Diego's</a> LandShark Bar &amp; Grill will transform into “<a href="https://www.margaritavilleresorts.com/margaritaville-hotel-san-diego/live-entertainment/lost-temple-tavern-oct-10-oct-31" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Lost Temple Tavern</a>,” a haunted jungle pop-up running from October 10 through October 31. Guests will step into an abandoned tropical outpost overtaken by twisted vines, ancient relics and mysterious forces lurking deep within the jungle. The immersive experience will feature overgrown jungle décor, tropical skeletons, cursed castaways, ancient artifacts, eerie photo opportunities and spooky twists on familiar island-inspired elements. Guests can explore the tavern while enjoying themed tropical cocktails and island-inspired food specials available for purchase.

The experience will also feature immersive entertainment and interactive elements throughout the month. On Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 7:30 pm, a live DJ will add to the nighttime atmosphere with music and entertainment. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in costume and ready to venture into the unknown. Located inside LandShark Bar &amp; Grill at Margaritaville Hotel San Diego, “Lost Temple Tavern” runs daily from 7 am until close, October 10 through October 31.

This Halloween, <a href="https://www.ljshoreshotel.com/dining/the-shores-restaurant/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">The Shores Restaurant</a> in La Jolla is giving pups a reason to dress up, dine out and join their humans for a full day of festivities. On Saturday, October 31 the restaurant is hosting its annual Howl-O-Ween celebration, welcoming guests and their four-legged friends to enjoy oceanfront dining, treats, and toys on the outdoor patio and lawn areas all day long. Pet parents can enjoy California coastal fare while pups can order from the restaurant's Canine Menu, featuring favorites like the Hot Diggity Dog, Half Hound Hamburger and Good Dog New York Strip Steak.&nbsp;

Guests who dine and bring their pups dressed in their Halloween best will receive a complimentary wag bag filled with goodies from local pet brands, including Dexter’s Deli, Scoops La Jolla, Pooches Kitchen, Deckers Dog + Cat, Noah’s Natural Pet, Hoppy Dog Treats, and more, while supplies last.&nbsp;

A doggy photo station will be set up, giving pups and their humans a chance to capture a Halloween moment together and enter for a chance to win a $150 gift certificate to The Shores Restaurant. To enter, order an entree, snap a photo of your pup on The Shores Lawn, post the photo to social media and tag @ljshoreshotel.&nbsp;

Learn to Carve a Spoon! Saturday, October 31, 9am-2pm -OR- Sunday, November 29, 9am-2pm
Beginning spoon carving. In this introduction course of carving Woodworker Paul Maschka will be sharing the ancient style of green wood hand carving with simple but very precise hand tools–a small carving axe, straight blade carving knife and a curved hook knife. With proper techniques, green wood can be intricately sculpted into extremely beautiful, functional and unique pieces of art. Paul specializes in Viking-era cutlery. This Scandinavian style is still being crafted around the world. In this workshop, students will be creating a straight tea spoon or straight cooking spoon.
This class is designed for the beginner as well as more experienced carvers. There is no prerequisite for this class.
All of the necessary tools and materials will be available to students for this class. Tools and chopping blocks will be available for purchase after the class.
No experience necessary. Ages 18+ welcome, or 14+ years with an accompanying adult!
