Cancer Survivors Day Celebrations Set for June 22
Free public events are presented by Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center

Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center will present two free public celebrations for local cancer survivors, families, friends and the community at large on Saturday, June 22. The events will take place at Farmer & The Seahorse restaurant on Torrey Pines Mesa and Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista.
The events are part of the 32nd annual observance of National Cancer Survivors Day. The programs are open to anyone affected by cancer, including patients, caregivers and loved ones. The celebrations will include inspirational stories of survival, physician presentations, complimentary food and refreshments, live entertainment and opportunities to connect with caregivers and fellow survivors.
- Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista – Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. ICU Courtyard, 435 H St., Chula Vista 91910. Register by calling 619-862-6600. This event is hosted by Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista Well-Being Center.
- Farmer & The Seahorse restaurant – Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 10996 Torreyana Road, San Diego 92121. Register by calling 1-800-SCRIPPS (727-4777).
National Cancer Survivors Day events are held in hundreds of communities nationwide throughout the month of June. The events are designed to connect and celebrate with those who have survived, inspire the recently diagnosed, offer support to family and loved ones and recognize those who have provided support along the way. They also provide a forum for discussing the physical, social and emotional issues that many cancer survivors face during and following treatment. More than 15.5 million people in the United States are now living with and beyond a diagnosis of cancer.
