Car Hits, Seriously Injures Pedestrian In Rancho Penasquitos

SAN DIEGO, CA — A car struck a jaywalking 63-year-old man on a Rancho Penasquitos-area street Tuesday, leaving him seriously injured, authorities said.

The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when the eastbound 2003 Acura hit him in the 13400 block of Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard about 10:15 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment of a compound fracture to his left leg and a broken left wrist, SDPD Officer Sarah Foster said.
