Carmel Valley House Fire Displaces Family
The American Red Cross was called in to help the residents of the house arrange for interim shelter.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A predawn house fire in a neighborhood near Torrey Pines High School displaced a family of five Monday, authorities reported.
The non-injury blaze erupted at about 5 a.m. in the 3900 block of Gaffney Court, north of Del Mar Heights Road and east of El Camino Real in Carmel Valley, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Crews arrived to find a small fire inside a wall of the one-story single-family home, SDFRD Capt. Jason Shanley said. The personnel were able to quickly get a handle on the blaze, the captain said.
