SAN DIEGO, CA — The Fort Oak restaurant in San Diego, a rustic-vibe eatery in Mission Hills that specializes in seasonal small plates and full meals, with an acclaimed oyster bar, is adding a special treat for diners — a front row seat to the kitchen — beginning in July.

At the "chef’s counter," diners can score up-close views of Fort Oak executive chef Brad Wise and his culinary team, in the bustling kitchen, slicing and dicing locally-grown vegetables, grilling meats and fresh-caught seafood on a custom-made, 7,000-pound grill, and composing savory plates for restaurant guests.

Fort Oak’s Chef’s Counter Experience will be available Wednesday and Thursday nights every other week starting July 17. The price is $100 per person for the six-course tasting, and an optional wine pairing is an additional $40 per person.
