Christmas, Hanukkah Celebrations Return To Sesame Place San Diego

The Chula Vista-based theme park is celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah this holiday season.

SAN DIEGO, CA — The holidays have arrived at Sesame Place San Diego. The Chula Vista-based theme park is celebrating Christmas and Hanukkah this holiday season.

The family-friendly festive event, "A Very Furry Christmas," returns on select dates through Jan. 7. The event features holiday decor and lights, Christmas tree maze, dance party, theater show, parade and more.

This year, there's an all-new 24-foot Christmas tree at the front of the park and photo opportunities with Santa Claus on select dates. Families can also enjoy the park during the evening for the first time.

Sesame Place San Diego will also host a Hanukkah Celebration on Dec. 10. The event will feature a menorah candle lighting, dreidel with Elmo, dance party, Hanukkah storytime and festive food.

Sesame Place San Diego is the only theme park on the West Coast based on the award-winning children's show. The park features 18 Sesame Street-themed rides and water attractions, an interactive Sesame Street Neighborhood complete with the iconic 123 Stoop, live character shows, parade and photo opportunities with characters from the long-running show. Water attractions have closed for the season.

Through Jan. 7, children ages 3 to 9 will receive free admission when accompanied by an adult with a paid ticket. Tickets must be purchased by Dec. 10 and the visit must take place by Jan. 7. Children under 3 visit for free year-round.

Sesame Place San Diego is located at 2052 Entertainment Circle in Chula Vista. The park is open on Saturdays and Sundays, plus select additional dates.
