Clairemont Man Fatally Stabbed At Home

The victim's name was withheld pending family notification.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A Clairemont resident was fatally stabbed Monday at his home near Tecolote Canyon and a man he knew was arrested on suspicion of murdering him, authorities reported.

Patrol personnel responding to a report of an assault in the 5100 block of Bowden Avenue arrived to find Raul Marquez, 28, in the victim's driveway with a knife in his hand and blood on his clothes, according to the San Diego Police Department.

After Marquez complied with the officers' orders to drop the weapon and surrender, they entered the home and found the body of a 67-year-old man who had suffered stab wounds to his upper body, SDPD Lt. Steve Shebloski said.

Homicide detectives were working to determine the motive for the deadly assault, Shebloski said. The victim and suspect knew each other, but the nature of their relationship was not immediately clear.
