Coast Guard Intercepts Boat With 9 Migrants Near Coronado
Boarding teams found nine people aboard who said they were Mexican nationals.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Coast Guard crews intercepted a 24-foot boat carrying nine people near Coronado, officials announced Thursday.
A U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations crew reported a suspected meeting between a panga and another vessel at 4:47 p.m. Sunday near the northern tip of Coronado Island, according to the Coast Guard.
Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team boat crews were sent to the area and stopped the vessel. Boarding teams found nine people aboard who said they were Mexican nationals.

The nine individual were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol at Ballast Point.
