6 Rescued After Navy Helicopter Crashes In San Diego Bay

An MH-60R Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 41 crashed near Naval Amphibious Base Coronado​, officials said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A Navy helicopter crashed in San Diego Bay and all six people aboard survived, military officials said.

An MH-60R Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 41 crashed at about 6:40 p.m. near Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, officials said.

Members of the Federal Fire Department San Diego rescued the crew members, according to the San Diego-Union Tribune.

All six people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and underwent medical evaluations Thursday night, according to USA Today.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known. The crash was under investigation.
