Driver Crashes Into Tree, Catches Fire Outside SD Police Station

Officers pulled the driver from the vehicle and away from the flames.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man driving a mini van crashed into a tree and caught fire Thursday morning in front of a police substation in City Heights.

Around 2 a.m., the unidentified man veered from his route down Landis Street and crashed into a tree near the San Diego Police Department Mid-City substation, ABC News10 reported.

Officers pulled the driver from the vehicle and away from the flames. The news station also reported the tree also caught fire, but the substation didn't sustain any damages from the incident.
