Driver Killed In City Heights Freeway Crash
A 43-year-old motorist was killed in a solo crash on state Route 15 in City Heights.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 43-year-old motorist was killed Thursday in a solo crash on state Route 15 in City Heights.
The man lost control of the southbound Ford F-150 he was driving near Manzanita Canyon about 3:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses said the pickup truck had been weaving and swerving before going up an embankment and then crashing into a center-divider guardrail, the state agency reported.

The driver, a San Ysidro resident who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was ejected onto the roadway and died at the scene, CHP public-affairs Officer Jesse Matias said. The man's name was withheld pending family notification.
The fatal wreck forced a closure of a stretch of the southbound side of the freeway into the early evening. All affected traffic was detoured past the crash site via nearby Interstate 805.
