Driver Killed In Crash On I-15 Near Escondido Identified
Juan Cornejo, 32, of Temecula died at the scene.
ESCONDIDO, CA — Authorities have publicly identified a man who was killed last week in a crash on Interstate 15 in northern San Diego County.
The crash happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. May 7 on southbound I-15, south of Gopher Canyon Road near Escondido. Juan Cornejo, 32, of Temecula had stopped his Dodge sedan for unknown reasons when it was struck by an Infiniti sedan, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.
Cornejo was ejected onto the roadway, the agency reported. He died at the scene.
