DUI Driver Who Injured 5-Year-Old Girl At Liberty Station Pleads Guilty

Savannah Monique Taylor, 21, is facing a state prison term of between 7 and 9 years, according to court documents.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman who drove drunk, then struck and seriously injured a 5-year-old girl riding a scooter at Liberty Station is scheduled to be sentenced June 4 for her guilty plea to DUI charges.

Savannah Monique Taylor, 21, is facing a state prison term of between 7 and 9 years, according to court documents.

Taylor pleaded guilty on Wednesday to charges of DUI causing injury and DUI with a blood-alcohol content of over .08%. She also admitted to allegations of inflicting great bodily injury and committing the offense while out on bail in a separate case.

Taylor drove onto a pedestrian path on Sept. 6, 2025, striking the girl, along with a bench and plants near the USS Recruit, according to prosecutors.

The girl sustained serious injuries that left her hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
