Earthquakes In Baja California Felt In San Diego County
The series of quakes were reported Monday morning. Did you feel them?
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Baja California, Mexico, was struck by a series of earthquakes Monday morning that were felt in San Diego County.
A magnitude 4.4 earthquake was reported at 8:09 a.m. near the town of San Vicente, followed by a magnitude 5.1 quake at 8:30 a.m., a magnitude 4.1 quake at 8:31 a.m. and a magnitude 4.3 quake at 8:32 a.m. near the town of Maneadero, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Both towns are in the municipality of Ensenada in Baja California, which is about 75 miles south of the U.S.-Mexico border.
Although centered in Baja California, the quakes were felt across the county, including in Alpine, Chula Vista, Del Mar, El Cajon, Escondido, La Jolla, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, National City, Ramona, San Diego, Santee, Solana Beach and Spring Valley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
