A 17-year-old boy suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg, according to a report.

ESCONDIDO, CA — A 17-year-old boy suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg after a firearm discharged while in the back of a vehicle, according to a report Sunday.
The accident occurred Saturday afternoon in a parking lot at Grape Day Park on Woodward Avenue in Escondido, Escondido Police Department Sgt. Juan Alva told the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Alva could not provide details about what led up to the shooting, the model of firearm was unclear, no weapons were recovered by officers and it was unclear if the boy was hospitalized.
