Fake Cop Tries To Lure Children Into Vehicle In San Diego: Police
He told them he was a police officer, and tried to get them into his vehicle to take photos of them, according to San Diego police.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A man posing as a police officer tried to lure children into his vehicle at a San Diego park, authorities said.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. Monday when a man approached two children, ages 9 and 12, at Keiller Park on Woodrow Avenue, according to the San Diego Police Department. He told them he was a police officer, and tried to get them into his vehicle to take photos of them.
"Thankfully, the children were suspicious of the man's behavior and did not follow him," Detective David Kean said. "Instead, they told an adult, who called San Diego (police)."
