Fire Damages Auto Shop In San Diego
The fire broke out at a repair shop in the 5900 block of Mission Gorge Road.

SAN DIEGO, CA – A fire damaged an auto repair shop and shut down traffic on Mission Gorge Road on Friday night, an official said Saturday.
The fire broke out around 8:15 p.m. at a repair shop in the 5900 block of Mission Gorge Road, a San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatcher said.
Both directions of the road were shut down shortly after while firefighters battled the blaze.
Several cars were damaged as Mission Gorge Auto Shop and Upholstery became engulfed in flames, and some of the shop's metal walls began to buckle but didn't ultimately collapse, NBC7 reported. An employee was in the shop when the fire began but managed to escape uninjured, according to the news station.

The fire was under investigation, and no information was available on the cause or the amount of damage to the structure and its contents, the dispatcher said.
