Fire Damages Encanto-Area Apartment

Police detained one person at the scene for questioning, according to SDFRD public affairs.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Flames spread through an Encanto-area apartment Thursday, causing an estimated $200,000 worth of property losses.

The non-injury blaze erupted shortly after 12:30 p.m. at a four-unit, two-story residential complex in the 600 block of Flicker Street, near the intersection of Imperial Avenue and 69th Street, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

It took crews about 10 minutes to extinguish the flames.

Investigators were unable to immediately pin down the cause of the fire, which resulted in about $150,000 worth of structural damage and destroyed contents valued at $50,000, according to SDFRD public affairs.
