Fire Damages Vacant San Diego House

A blaze damaged a vacant house in the Southcrest area Thursday morning, authorities said.

SAN DIEGO, CA – A blaze damaged a vacant house in the Southcrest area Thursday morning, authorities said.

The fire in the 3700 block of Newton Avenue started around 6:50 a.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue spokeswoman Monica Munoz said.

Crews arrived at the abandoned single-story house and knocked down the flames within around 20 minutes, Munoz said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
