Fire Engulfs Garage At Loma Portal Home

SAN DIEGO, CA — A fire that erupted in a laundry dryer engulfed a garage at a Loma Portal-area home Thursday.

The non-injury blaze broke out shortly before 12:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Azalea Drive, just north of Chatsworth Boulevard, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

It took crews about 10 minutes to extinguish the flames, the city agency reported.

It was not immediately clear if the living quarters of the residence were damaged by the fire.
