Fire At Home Of CA Politicians Was Arson: Report
A fire that damaged the home of legislator Lorena Gonzalez and SD County Board of Supervisors Chair Nathan Fletcher was purposefully set.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A fire that damaged the home of two Golden State politicians in early January was deemed an act of arson, officials said.
The home belonged to San Diego County Board of Supervisors Chair Nathan Fletcher and former California lawmaker Lorena Gonzalez, NBC News reported. The two Democrats were not injured but the fire inflicted $36,000 worth of damage, officials said.
Investigators said Friday that they concluded the fire early on Jan. 12 was arson, according to San Diego police Lt. Adam Sharki.

The couple were woken up by their smoke alarms around 4:20 a.m. and were able to safely get out of the house, police Lt. Christian Sharp told NBC San Diego.
