Firefighters Battle 4-Acre Wildfire Near Imperial Beach

The fire did not threaten any structures and no evacuations were required.

SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego Fire-Rescue Department crews battled a wildfire in the area of Saturn Boulevard and Monument Road near Imperial Beach, authorities said Monday.

Crews located a brush fire south of the intersection at 7:26 a.m. Monday, according to a fire department online log.

Access to the fire was difficult because of the dense brush, fire officials said. SDFRD used brush engines, which have off-road capability and are designed for brush fire.
