Flood Watch Issued For Parts Of San Diego County

SAN DIEGO, CA — The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch Tuesday for parts of San Diego County.

The flood watch is in effect starting at noon and through the evening for San Diego deserts and mountains, according to the NWS. Excessive runoff from rain can result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone areas.

Scattered thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are expected Tuesday afternoon and evening, according to the NWS.

"You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings," the NWS advised. "Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop."
