Flood Watch Issued For Parts Of San Diego County

SAN DIEGO, CA — The National Weather Service issued a flood watch Wednesday for parts of San Diego County.

The flood watch will be in effect starting from noon through Thursday evening for the county deserts and mountains, according to the NWS. The communities of Borrego Springs, Julian and Pine Valley are among those impacted.

Monsoonal moisture can increase with scattered thunderstorms developing in the mountains with some moving into the deserts, according to the NWS. Thunderstorms will produce heavy rainfall with flash flooding possible.

"You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings," the NWS advised. "Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop."
