Free, 2-Hour Whole Foods Delivery Service Now In San Diego

Starting Tuesday, Amazon Prime members can get Whole Foods products delivered in parts of the San Diego region.

SAN DIEGO, CA – Amazon Prime customers in San Diego County can now get free, two-hour delivery from Whole Foods Market.

Amazon, which bought Whole Foods Market last year, announced Tuesday that the delivery service is now available through Amazon Prime. The company, which is already delivering products from Whole Foods Market to seven metro areas, is expanding its service for Prime subscribers to San Diego, as well as Sacramento and Denver.

"We've been delighted with the customer response to free, two-hour delivery through Prime Now, and we're excited to bring the service to our customers in Denver, Sacramento and San Diego," Christina Minardi, Whole Foods Market's executive vice president of operations, said in a statement. "Today's announcement is another way that we are continuing to expand access to our high-quality products and locally-sourced favorites."

Whole Foods Market, known for its organic and natural foods products, offers produce, baked goods, dairy, meat and seafood, floral and everyday staples. In San Diego, orders can include beer, wine and spirits.

The delivery service is free for orders of $35 or more and is available to anyone who has an Amazon Prime subscription. One-hour delivery is also available on orders of $35 or more for a $7.99 fee.

Delivery is available from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Orders can be placed via Amazon's Prime Now app or online at primenow.com.

Not all of San Diego County is covered by Amazon's Whole Foods delivery service. Amazon Prime members can enter their ZIP code into the app to see if they are in the delivery area.
